The FourthRack product range

The FourthRack Chassis offers the user a high-density solution to G.703 and G.704 interface conversion. It has been designed specifically to meet the demands of the service provider sector and medium to large scale enterprise users. The FourthRack is a 19 inch rackmount chassis, is only 2U high and can house up to fourteen G.703 or G.704 Line Cards, in any mix as required. A universally-adjustable rackmount bracket system is supplied with each chassis. There are two power supply slots so the user can build in greater resilience if desired. An optional FourthRack Management System can be co-located within each of the power supply slots. The G.703 and G.704 Line Cards are 'hot-swappable,' are available with 75Ohm and 120Ohm G.703/4 interfaces and will convert to X.21 and V.35. FourthRack Line Cards are built on a single-piece circuit board for better reliability. All G.703 and G.704 Line Card variants may be used in managed or unmanaged FourthRack Chassis units. All cables exit from the front of the cards/chassis making cable management much cleaner and simpler.

Ordering information

The FourthRack range is modular so when ordering it is necessary to specify exactly which options you require.

Step one.  Choose power supply option.  Decide on mains AC power or 48VDC power. Each chassis has two power supply slots.  You may use one or two power supplies per chassis, two gives greater resilience.  The possible options are shown below :

One Unmanaged AC or
One Managed AC or
Two Unmanaged AC or
Two Managed AC or
One Managed AC + One Unmanaged AC

One Unmanaged 48VDC or
One Managed 48VDC or
Two Unmanaged 48VDC or
Two Managed 48VDC or
One Managed 48VDC + One Unmanaged 48VDC

Step two.  Choose the type and quantity of G.703 and G.704 Line cards you require, in any mix.  Although not listed below, V.35 cards are available, please contact us for details.

Step three.  Choose blanking panels to fill any unused slots in the chassis : these are available for a single Line Card slot, three Line Card slots or power supply slot.

Step four.  Select any cables you require from our cables page.
